How to download a web browser on nvidia shield

Thanks to the power in it, Nvidia Shield TV is absolutely a beast. So you have just got a new shiny Nvidia Sheild TV which we must admit is the best android tv box out there by far in terms of performance.

Then install IPTV on your firestick as follows, but the steps are few, which is our own application. Click here to get a 3-day free trial of AirTV. If you want to record your favorite TV shows, movies, and live sporting events, cloud PVR is an important feature to consider when choosing a live TV streaming service.

You must be logged in to post a comment. I just open Steam big picture mode and then use the big picture mode's internet browser ahah :. I would like to use the browser to stream online movies - I installed Chrome and can get it to display.

I am also able to go the streaming movie website. But once there I have to log in. After I enter my user name and password, how do I click on the Log-In button? The remote or the controller do not have a cursor interface to go to the login button. Please help!!! Not the best option, but es file explorer has a built in browser.

I don't see why anyone would use Chrome on Android TV,it has a horrendous flaw! The back button is missing from the menus,so it is a major PITA to use, because you have to go to your history just to go back a page.

Since flash player is stupidly crippled on newer Android versions, you require a specific modded flash apk and Dolphin Browser with Jetpack enabled which has major rendering bugs and glitches that can often obscure your view of some flash content, though Happy Wheels runs incredibly well on it with flash game mode toggled on to fix controls.

Google, where the hell is PepperFlash for Android? It would be perfect on Android with multi-threading helping immensely with performance and no more limitations such as the content running out of memory access and turning white with a play button on the screen. Its funny to read posts like "why do you need a browser on TV?

Why do you need a radio in your car? Boy, I want to read my daily news while having breakfast on the sofa. Uhm if radio in a car was as clunky as a browser on a TV then ya I probably wouldn't want radio in a car. Remember WebTV? Maybe they learned from GoogleTV. But clearly you must be right, all these companies must be completely clueless. Lightning browser works quite well I installed it from google playstore via pc.

No root needed but sideloader app or similar to launch it. KnifMelti said: said: I just got the Shield Console and like a fool I just assumed it would have a web browser. Any way a noob like me can install one or any word on how long I will need to wait?

Thanks for any help. I can provide an answer. One of the great things about the Shield is that it is an always on network connected device. Add with external storage and it can function pretty damn well as a NAS on top of its existing functionality. Within it I'm hosting several automated media downloading services which enable it to function as an all-in-one low cost, low power, silent HTPC.

These services all have web interfaces. Why would I get up and go to a PC to access services local to my device? Basically, With a browser available as on option for someone whose butt is already on the sofa the better question would be, "Why wouldn't they? Simply lacking in imagination. Your niche usage simple does not justify the resources required for developers to design an Android TV web browser. The good news is Android TV allows you to side-load apps.

Add one of the existing browsers and use your keyboard and mouse to do what you need to do. The better solution for majority of the reasons people want a web browser on Android TV a well designed app would serve them better.

My bad. So do apps automatically update on the Shield when you use this method? The other method stopped working for some reason so I removed that part. Awww well that sucks, you had me all excited. I just replaced the tv play store with the standard version and didn't have to worry about it anymore.

You can also use market helper to spoof devices if so needed. Sounds good how do you do that? Yeah that sounds promising, I'm willing to bet a lot of people want to know also. How did you get Market Helper working on the shield tv? I'm going nuts trying to get it to work. Keeps crashing after it says "doing magical stuff" Are there any alternatives to Market Helper?

I tried this a month or 2 ago and had awful results. It did install the Standard play store and it overwrote the Android TV play store. The problem was it would find but not install most apps. Please let me know if someone is having success with this route.

Same thing happened to me. Now I can't get the original play store back either. Rather than using a USB stick, you can just attach the. Then read it and download the file on the Shield and just click to install after setting "unknown sources". Still has to be done on another device but it can now be your phone. Use the chrome browser to find the app.
